MHCO Advanced Driving Clinic
This MHCO Advanced Driving clinic, is geared towards more advanced drivers. It will focus on what the judge is looking for in both the horses and their drivers in the different classes at an AMHR and/or AMHA Sanctioned Show. We plan to have interactive sessions offering lessons to the participants and also allow for auditors to watch and learn from these lessons. This clinic will allow for participants to either take part in with their driving horse or to audit (watch, don’t bring horse).

** All pre-registrations must be postmarked by July 1 (MHCO members given first priority over non-members) with a second deadline (July 15) for Non-Members – email to, or contact mhco@mhco.ca or Carolyn Aarup with regards to registering for this event.
Pre-registration is required with payment (cheques or money orders made out to the “MHCO”, Etransfers sent to treasurer@mhco.ca ) can be post-dated July 1 as they will not be cashed until then). Everyone who registers WILL be contacted to confirm a place in the clinic.
NOTE: There will be no refunds unless clinic is cancelled, as the costs for this event (rental of facility) must be covered.

Participants Clinic Needs
- Anyone bringing a horse must answer the clinic questionnaire (email/send in with payment) which determines their level, as well as their horse’s level, of experience so the group lessons can be organized by skill/experience
- All horses attending must be safe to drive in a group and indoor arena and have good driving manners
- Each horse must have its own harness, vehicle (cart/carriage) and driving whip;
- It is recommended that all driving participants wear an approved helmet
Participants Personal Needs:
Please bring your own chair and materials for note taking.
- Food booth available on site or you are welcome to bring your own lunch.

This clinic is open to all MHCO members in good standing (paid 2017 MHCO members) – clinic may be opened to non-members after July 1 deadline if spaces are still available. All members using a horse must either have their own MHCO Membership or if Farm Membership, all horses must belong to the Farm.
Regardless of the type of Membership, EACH person attending the clinic MUST register under their name and pay one of the clinic fees per person (see fees above)

– Road curves to the right. In Monkton, turn left on ON 23 N

– North on ON 6 N toward Guelph
– West on 401 W towards London
– Take exit 295 to ON 6 N towards Guelph
– Turn right (east) on Woodlawn / ON 6 N

– East on Hwy 401 to Hwy 410 in Brampton (exit 344)
– North on Hwy 410. Hwy 410 curves left and then right, and turns into CR 10, continue north
– Turn left (west) on Dufferin County Road 109 (Orangeville Bypass)
– Turn left (west) on Broadway to stay on CR 109 towards Arthur
– Turn right (NW) on ON 6 N through Arthur and Mount Forest
