Hi MHCO Members,
• Today is the last day to send in your nominations for MHCO Perpetual awards! Now's your chance to nominate your choice for fellow members who you feel are deserving of special recognition!
Have you been keeping an eye on your fellow MHCO members?
This is a reminder to send in your nominations for candidates for the MHCO Members' Choice Perpetual Awards: Sportsmanship, Fellowship , Horsemanship and MHCO People's Choice Award . Hopefully you have been watching your fellow MHCO members at Socials, Shows, and Meetings ... any event where MHCO members are together.
These are members whom you observe going out of their way to do those little "extras" for the club and their fellow members. They are members who enhance the MHCO by their actions and attitudes which set examples for other MHCO members. They are members who you would like to see recognized for their efforts in the club.

Any member can submit their vote for another member, but not for oneself or a family member, and you must have a membership to vote. An explanation is optional but not necessary as to why you feel this person deserves the award. Please send your nomination and for which award you want considered to the MHCO Awards Committee - Mary McKibbon c/o marymckibbon@outlook.com by OCTOBER 1 of this year.
All awards will be presented at the annual MHCO Awards banquet (October 29 th).
Here are the criteria for each award:
SPORTSMANSHIP: (perpetual trophy and keeper award donated by Carolyn Aarup): To enjoy Miniature horses, to promote understanding, knowledge and proper care of horses to fellow MHCO members and/or exhibitors. Skill in/fondness for the MHCO, a person who can take loss or defeat without complaint, or victory without gloating and who treats his fellow exhibitors with fairness, generosity and courtesy, is respectful of rules and decisions of officials, gives maximum effort.
FELLOWSHIP: (perpetual trophy donated by Debbie and Heather Scriven of Moonshadow Minis and the keeper award donated by Tracy Sammons): To promote and enjoy good fellowship among horse lovers. Companionship, friendly association with others, mutual sharing as of experience and activity, a group of people with the same interest, to work towards a common goal.
HORSEMANSHIP: (perpetual trophy and keeper award donated by Jake Circle K Stables): To promote an interest in horses and horsemanship, to have a particular skill in, or the art of managing, training or taking care of horses.
MHCO "PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD":(which replaces the OEF AWARD) A deserving individual within our discipline and association who has made an outstanding contribution of time and effort overall on behalf of the MHCO.. This nominee is recognized for the behind-the-scenes effort of this equine enthusiast of the MHCO.
